The first series of this sketch show used the longer 'Ruddy Hell' title - this has since been dropped. The opening sequence at the start of each of the six episodes featured two attractive females slowly morphing into Harry and Paul as they smoked, ate un-healthily, drank and generally ruined their health. The characters seen in this series included Jamie and Oliver; Bono and The Edge; Bill Gates and Steve Jobs; Madonna and Guy Ritchie; Jasper Hazelnut; and Jose Arrogantio and Didier Peskovitch.
In 2008, the sketch show veterans returned for a second series - but there were changes. Geoffrey Perkins took over as producer and Sandy Johnson took over the directorial duties. The name of the show was changed and a new communist-themed title sequence was filmed too. The favourite characters from the last series returned, but many were dropped. New characters like elderly Radio 3 DJs Clarence and Henry, and the Dragons' Den judges were introduced to replace these.
The boys return for a third series, but this time on BBC Two. New characters include a south London dysfunctional family; a corrupt Italian politician and his straight-faced translator; a Forties drunkard who gets into homicidal scrapes; and Parking Pataweyo, everyone's favourite parking warden.
