This comedy appears to have been cancelled due to its similarity to BBC Four's olympic-based mockumentary series Twenty Twelve

A mockumentary about the 2012 Olympic Games from the writers of The Worst Week of My Life.

Going for Gold will centre on the fictional deputy chair of the Olympics organising committee. The feature-length comedy-drama will document his struggle to convert a field in Stratford into an Olympic venue and his preparations for a visit by members of the International Olympic Committee.

"He's responsible for putting on the greatest show on Earth - you couldn't imagine a job with higher stakes. In Worst Week-style, it will show all the pitfalls and travails he faces as he awaits the IOC's visit." writer Mark Bussell told Broadcast Magazine.
