Series 2

1. Episode One

First broadcast: Monday 14th September 1970

Estimating needing £130 for their wedding and honeymoon, Ada gets a job as lavatory attendant at the town hall, and Walter is expecting a rise. But Ruth's none-too-pleased with her mother's new occupation, and the news Walter receives isn't exactly what he was hoping for.


2. Episode Two

First broadcast: Monday 21st September 1970

Following a bit of interfering on Ada's part, Walter encourages Leslie to assert his masculinity by ordering Ruth upstairs with the intent of procreation. But far from doing her wifely duties, Ruth throws him out!


3. Episode Three

First broadcast: Monday 28th September 1970

Leslie is offered a promotion, but it means he, Ada and Ruth would have to move to Coventry. Putting the house up for sale, Ada and Walter believe they don't have long left together...


4. Episode Four

First broadcast: Monday 5th October 1970

It's Ada's birthday, and there's a bit of a clash between Walter's plans, Ada's plans, and the interfering Freda Skinner!


5. Episode Five

First broadcast: Monday 12th October 1970

Whilst tending the grave of Ada's late husband Sam, Leslie discovers that a mix-up has led to Sam being buried in a neighbouring plot, and that she's been keeping it neat and tidy for all of these years erroneously!


6. Episode Six

First broadcast: Monday 19th October 1970

Tired of saving, and with Ada's generosity looking set to cost them even more, she and Walter decide that they should elope to Yorkshire and marry there.


7. Episode Seven

First broadcast: Monday 26th October 1970

The big day has finally arrived! Walter and Ada are at the church, but a small oversight on his part delays the ceremony. Luckily the delay gives time for Walter's son Albert to arrive and take his place as best man.
