1. Episode One

First broadcast: Monday 8th January 1979

Small-town footballer Terry and his young wife, Viv, are thrown in at the deep end when he's signed by the flash-talking manager of a major club. They soon find themselves put into residence in a large, new-build home, with tabloid-baiting backstories to remember, and no actual clue as to where their house is!

2. Episode Two

First broadcast: Monday 15th January 1979

Hamilton begins explaining the ways of first division footballing life to Viv whilst Terry's off at his first training session, learning how to dive and maximise opportunities that the "beautiful game" presents. She's not amused by suggestions of having her teeth straightened and he soon has her identified as a real thorn in the club's side.

3. Episode Three

With the start of the new season fast approaching, the Princes are hosting a dinner party for club captain and legend Frank Faith and his wife, with Hamilton and Harry completing the guest list. All, of course, under the iron-fisted supervision of Hamilton Defries. Meanwhile, Harry is preparing to unveil his new strategy - 'Cosmic Football' - to the team.

Terry's first game finally arrives and he's a bag of nerves, but once on the pitch his talent shines and he secures the team a cherished win. With TV cameras in attendance his performance is sure to be celebrated, and sure enough he and Harry are invited to appear on football show Match Box. To say it takes the sheen off Hamilton's carefully constructed image of Terry is an understatement...

5. Episode Five

First broadcast: Monday 5th February 1979

Viv invites the next door neighbours for dinner, but the convivial atmosphere is soon shattered when it transpires that the Jellicoes are most certainly not football fans. There's also trouble brewing at the club, with a group of supporters becoming increasingly violent and threatening the team's image - not to mention their own safety. Hamilton, as ever, has a scheme, but this time both Terry and Viv are keen to help.

6. Episode Six

First broadcast: Monday 12th February 1979

When the team suffer a 3 - 1 loss in only their second game of the season, Harry Turnbull takes it particularly hard. The players may be downtrodden and dispirited, but Harry's distraught and thinks his only option is to leave the game. Defries finds him slumped over his desk with misery and spots an opportunity: he'll set Turnbull up with management of a cash-rich Arab team.
