1. Everybody's Trucking

The platoon is ordered to plant signposts in order to direct a large convoy, but things are made difficult when the road is blocked, and by Mainwaring continuously damaging Jones's newly furnished van.

2. A Man Of Action

Journalist Mr Cheeseman comes to make a report on the Home Guard. This is soon overshadowed when a landmine cuts off Walmington-on-Sea's gas, water and railway lines. Captain Mainwaring decides the best thing to do is to put the town under martial law - with himself in charge.

The platoon are out on an important trial of their tactics but Hodges is determined to make sure that they fail. The exercise takes a very strange turn when Hodges and the Verger come into contact with a gorilla.

4. The Godiva Affair

Jones is worried that Mrs. Fox is falling in love with the town clerk, Mr. Gordon, so he asks Captain Mainwaring if he can help. Meanwhile, Hodges and Gordon are casting for the role of Lady Godiva in the town parade.

5. The Captain's Car

There is good news for the platoon: they are to welcome a French General and Mainwaring is to get a staff car - a Rolls-Royce, no less. It is decided to have the car camouflage-painted.

6. Turkey Dinner

During a drunken evening, Jones and his men accidentally shoot a turkey. Having failed to establish the bird's rightful owner, they decide the best thing to do is to offer the older residents of Walmington a turkey dinner.
