Stacey is pushing 30 and feels it's time she was taken seriously. Promotion beckons, but inviting her boss, Mr West, to a Halloween party where she wants to impress him and her colleagues isn't her brightest idea. All her careful plans come to nothing as the evening descends into chaos, via embarrassment and humiliation.

Her idiot brother Dylan and his friend The Boghead get drunk and terrorise other partygoers, her boyfriend Henry strays off the leash, no one's eaten any toffee apples and she gets far too friendly with someone in a ghost costume. Stacey's best friend, Ness, who has recently returned from London nursing a broken heart, isn't a ray of sunshine. And Ness's teenage brother, Neil, has the social skills of a rampaging rhino.

As disaster piles upon embarrassment, Stacey's tightly controlled world shatters into chaos.
