Ustinov has long been acknowledged the "King of the Raconteurs" - his ability to hold an audience spellbound with humorous anecdotes honed to perfection over the years. His career spanned film (he received an Oscars for his performances in Spartacus and Topkapi), theatre, books (his acclaimed autobiography, Dear Me, was a bestseller) and he was the favoured guest of many a chat show host, though many people still recognise him as Hercule Poirot.
It is his charm and humour, however, that he is best remembered for and An Audience With Peter Ustinov showcases this wonderfully, bringing many people to consider this to be the best of the top-rated and long-running An Audience With series. This special will appeal to anyone who likes stand-up comedy performances, humorous anecdotes, and archive television fans.
