Waiting

By: Carrie Doyle

Sitcom Mission 2015 finalist

Waiting is about Franco's, a failing chain restaurant, and the people trapped there. Meet Henry, the boss by default, desperate to prove himself; Lizzy, the new and inexperienced waitress try to find her direction; Romy, Henry's long-serving and suffering confidante avoiding the move to a 'real job'; and Arthur, Henry's brother, buying time until he's a big-time writer.

Lizzy is invited on an impromptu date with Brigham, a fellow waiter. Arthur finds it funny until he realises Lizzy might actually be looking forward to it, and he has to face up to his emerging feelings for her. Meanwhile, Henry bumps into his ex-fiancé Molly while out with Romy. Desperate to cover up a lie, he enlists Romy to pretend to be his wife.
