Hello everyone, how's it all going?

We hope you're enjoying the process of writing your sitcom scripts, coming up with bold, distinct, unique and memorable characters, sticking them in a pressure cooker, turning the heat up and seeing what happens. If you're not enjoying it then stop what you're doing... now carry on and start enjoying it. Especially the frustrating, soul-gnarling, brain-squeezing, life-fogging, A1-car-crash-that-blocks-both-lanes moments. Break through those and you'll be writing with fewer limitations. Things can only improve because of it.

So, what have we been up to?

On Wednesday we've got the last in our first 8-week course at the City Academy in that there London Town. We've had great fun with a brilliant bunch of students who we've pushed, dragged, shoved and hassled and they've responded fantastically. We'll be interested to see if they can put the final touches together and come up with a script that we'll want to take further. They're on the same playing field as you are when it comes to judging the scripts, and we'll be very happy indeed if you guys can come up with something even better. We've read a couple of entries so far that are definitely contenders... but it's very early days and we're looking forward to reading them all.

Speaking of early days... we've had a think, made an executive decision and decided to extend the closing date to April 15. There are a few reasons for this:

1) It's a cynical attempt to exploit poor, defenceless writers and extract even more money from even more of them from which they have no defence, choice or option.

2) So that people who are entering The Sitcom Trials - So You Think You Can Write Funny? competition can concentrate on getting their scripts as polished as possible for that format and either spend some time re-formatting for The Sitcom Mission or working on something new for us.

3) Because we can.

So we've re-opened the popular Silver feedback option with the last available date for application moved to March 28. If you've applied for Bronze feedback in the last couple of days and want to upgrade so that you can get your feedback early and do a re-write before the closing date, PM us on info@sitcommission.com and we'll sort it out for you.

Good luck to those of you entering The Sitcom Trials this year. We had a great time when we were part of their setup and they're doing a fab job keeping live sitcom going. We've got some great new plans for the future which we're looking at launching later in the year. Keep tuned to this channel for more information.

So, in summary:

Closing date now midnight on April 15, 2013.

Silver entry application deadline midnight on March 28, 2013.
