A new Taskmaster book - Bring Me The Head Of The Taskmaster: 101 Next Level Tasks - is to be published in September 2021.

The publishers say: "This is to books what Taskmaster is to TV - uniquely original and deviously addictive."

The book is explained as follows: "Bring Me The Head Of The Taskmaster contains 101 next level tasks (and clues) that will lead one ordinary person to some extraordinary Taskmaster treasure, offering readers the full Taskmaster experience. Part game, part treasure hunt, this painstakingly plotted, carefully crafted collection of preposterous tasks is a fully interactive guide to indulging your competitive streak. Rivalry is encouraged, dodgy tactics rewarded and bribes accepted, as readers are required to think, draw, jump and act outside of the box as they race to uncover the Head of the Taskmaster."

As revealed in the video below by writer Alex Horne, the treasure is a special Taskmaster trophy.

The book's publication will be timed to coincide with the next series of the hit show arriving on Channel 4. As recently revealed, Alan Davies, Desiree Burch, Guz Khan, Morgana Robinson and Victoria Coren Mitchell will take part in Series 12.

Alex Horne says: "Welcome to the race. It's not a race against the clock, that would be far easier. Clocks can be fast, but clocks never win races. It's nearly always humans. Sometimes horses. Occasionally dogs.

"This is a race against your fellow Taskmaster players. You are competing against everyone else who is reading this book. All you've got to do is find The Taskmaster's Head first.

This is a race with many twists and turns, that requires very little running, much sideways thinking, and quite a lot of patience.
"Thankfully, there will be a shedload of tasks along the way to distract you. There are tasks to do on your own, tasks to do with your family and friends, and tasks for bigger groups too. Some of these distractions may slow you down, but some may help you get where you need to be. As always, enjoy the tasks, do your best, make good choices."

This will be the second Taskmaster book. Extraordinary Tasks For Ordinary People was published in 2018.

The new book is available to pre-order now.

Not in the UK?

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
