Further details

The dysfunctional west Walian farming family, The Harri-Parris' Radio Show, are back on Radio Wales for a third series of the singing sitcom.

The first episode features the local Llanllai Agricultural Show - inspired by the Pembrokeshire County Show. Mami, Vice President of the Show, keeps everyone on their best behaviour, but the distractions of the Young Farmers tent leads Ifan astray. Deiniol on the other hand takes the best decorated egg competition too seriously whilst the family's prize stallion gets loose.

Creator Llinos Mai said: "Llanllai Agricultural Show, whilst a fictional event, is heavily inspired by the very real agricultural shows I've attended both as a child and as a grown up. Agricultural shows celebrate rural life in all its glory, so it's rich in material when you write a sitcom based on a farming family!

"I particularly love how surreal some of the competitions can be, especially in the smaller shows. 'Best Face Made Out of Vegetables', Best Decorated Egg' and 'Best Sandwich Box Filling' are all actual competitions that I've seen within arts and craft competition's during my time and have all found their way into the episode.

"It's also an event that brings out the whole community. I remember getting very annoyed with my parents for stopping to talk to someone they knew every two minutes when all I wanted to do was get to the fairground as quickly as possible. It certainly isn't the kind of place where you want to embarrass yourself and - in turn - your family in any way. So where better to let the Harri-Parri family run wild. What could possible go wrong?"

Every episode includes original songs which in Series 3 range in genres from Metallica-style heavy metal, to punk, from bubble-gum pop to disco to glam rock. Listeners are encouraged to get their dancing shoes at the ready as episode one includes a YMCA inspired number about the YFC.
