Stanley Baxter plays the role of Scotland's greatest monarch - portrayed in this sharply observed comedy as self-obsessed, selfish, demanding, rather spoilt, and with a pretty bad case of arachnophobia. Hugh Ross plays the hermit who sorts the wayward monarch out and saves the day.
