A first customer creates excitement but Hope and Joy are deflated when he merely asks for directions to the chiropodist, yet they remain overly kind and courteous to their first non-buying customer. Amidst endless bread buns and baps, the two women find they are as close as they have ever been and, when they eventually sell a cottage cheese roll, they are beside themselves with joy.
