Gilly's 14-year-old son Ben complains that nothing exciting ever happens to them - until a gangster on the run jumps into their car.

A divorced mother drives her terminally bored 14-year-old son to school. When the car stops, a man brandishing a gun leaps in. He has just committed a robbery and orders the mother to obey his instructions. After the initial shock, relationships soon develop. The son finally has some drama in his life and the mother experiences a "Stockholm Syndrome" attraction to her hijacker.
