Radio 4 has ordered a second series of Women Talking About Cars.

The comedic chat show, hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell, sees guests talking about their life but through the history of the cars they have owned. The BBC describes the format as "using cars as a vehicle to share memories", with the show "taking a comic look at life, love, sex, work, childhood, adulthood and adventure".

Producers add: "At the heart of the show is an exploration of what cars symbolise to women today, including freedom, power, refuge, novelty and familiarity. Her first car, her worst car, her favourite car, the journeys she's made, the journeys she hasn't, the people she's met en route..."

The first series, which was broadcast in November and December, involved Dawn French, Olivia Colman, Sarah Millican and Germaine Greer. Series 2 will consist of a further four episodes.

The new series will also be recorded in front of a live studio audience. As was the case with Series 1, members of the public will be encouraged to be drawn into the conversation by sharing their own car-based memories.

The full guest line-up for the new series has yet to be revealed, but an episode is due to be recorded on Wednesday 24th May (tickets) featuring the award-winning actress, author and Just A Minute regular Sheila Hancock.

The new series of Women Talking About Cars will be broadcast on Radio 4 later this year.
