Christmas Special - Christmas Eve

It is Christmas Eve at Alcoholics Anonymous, and Andy is waiting for the others to turn up.

Further details

It's Christmas Eve, and the church hall is empty - except for self-appointed group leader Andy, who's waiting for the rest of his Alcoholics Anonymous group to turn up. Just in case anyone needs him. After all, Christmas can be a difficult time for recovering alcoholics - especially when your support group is this load of idiots. But nothing proves more difficult than this particular Christmas eve as one by one, the members all arrive, each with a different reason for seeking out the meeting hall - although whatever their troubles, one thing is clear: no-one is there for a meeting.

Pete Jackson: Christmas Future: Sober?

I've thought a great deal about my own alcoholism, and alcoholism in general whilst writing Love In Recovery and it's an endlessly complex, slippery, frustrating and fascinating subject.

Pete Jackson: Christmas Present - Sober

My name's Pete Jackson. I write a Radio 4 series called Love In Recovery, set in Alcoholics Anonymous and based, in part, on my own experiences.

Pete Jackson: My Christmas as a drinking alcoholic

I'm Pete Jackson. Six years ago, in late September, I quit drinking. It wasn't my first attempt, not by a long stretch, but I hoped (and six years later I'm still hoping) that it was my last.
