A Douglas Adams character from another series makes a cameo in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Marvin the Paranoid Android in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy appears in the fourth episode of series two, when it is revealed that Richard MacDuff now works for Sirius Cybernetics. It appears he might be responsible for the terrible pain in all the diodes down Marvin's left-hand side.
