Angelos Epithemiou's Big Issue, was abysmal, possibly the worst comedy since the Spam Fritter Man back in the Seventies, the one taken off in mid-run. This probably means Epithemiou has a future on BBC Three.

Radio head: Happy Tuesdays

Angelos Epithemiou's Big Issue was clunky comedy.

Elisabeth Mahoney, The Guardian, 21st July 2010

Happy Tuesdays is the slot for new comedies which may (or may not) be developed into series for BBC radio or TV. If they are all as dire as this one, Angelos Epithemiou's Big Issue, the prospects are grim. The premise here is that a burger van owner, the Angelos Epithemiou of the title, gets his own chat show to explore issues in the news. Angelos is thick as a brick. That's the joke. He is the creation of comedian Renton Skinner. Some people must find it funny as Angelos is already cropping up on TV. My verdict? Makes even Fags, Mags and Bags (6.30pm) sound scintillating.

Gillian Reynolds, The Telegraph, 20th July 2010

A run of comedy pilots begins with the Shooting Stars panellist, burger-van owner and thick-voiced lunk Angelos Epithemiou, the creation of comedian Renton Skinner. Angelos hosts a discussion that's meant to be about the environment, but is constantly derailed by him battling with his foppish producer and insulting the guests. The joke is that Angelos misunderstands everything and uses the wrong words for things - I wasn't sure that could sustain half an hour, let alone a subsequent series. But I thought the same about Count Arthur Strong, so what do I know?
