Hannah Rose takes on BBC Assistant Commissioner role

BBC Comedy has appointed Hannah Rose to its newly created Assistant Commissioner role based in the North.

The BBC says: "Cementing BBC Comedy's commitment to championing more suppliers and discovering new comedy voices across the UK, Shane Allen, Director, BBC Comedy Commissioning, today announced Hannah Rose as Assistant Commissioner. Based in Salford, Hannah will be working with talent in the North on new and existing titles.

"Hannah, currently a producer and commissioning lead for comedy at BBC Sounds, has developed and produced scripted and entertainment titles across the comedy portfolio, working with established names such as Sofie Hagen as well as nurturing newer voices such as Jacob Hawley and Alison Spittle."

Hannah Rose says: "I'm so excited to be joining the BBC Comedy team to support their portfolio of dynamic programming and plans for the BBC Comedy Association whilst shining a light on talent in the North on and off screen."

Shane Allen comments: "Hannah lives and breathes comedy, her formidable experience on the live comedy scene coupled with her impressive portfolio of work at BBC Sounds make her a highly prized addition to the team."

Rose takes up her new role on 12th April 2021.
