Entry open for Musical Comedy Awards 2018

Musical Comedy Awards

Entry is now open for the Musical Comedy Awards 2018.

The competition, now in its 10th year, is an annual celebration of the UK's best up-and-coming musical comedy acts. Previous winners have included Abandoman, Rob Carter, David Elms and Rebecca Humphries.

The deadline to enter yourself into next year's competition is 10th December 2017.

To put yourself forward you need to post a video (no more than 6 minutes long) of your original musical comedy material to the MCA Facebook page. Entrants should also fill out the application form found via the MCA website.

40 selected acts will be invited to perform in the heats, which will take place in London on Saturday afternoons from mid-January. Last year's winner, Will Hislop, will headline the first heat, with Mitch Benn and Rachel Parris amongst those set to headline future shows. The final will take place in April.

Audience tickets to the heats are available now via sponsors WeGotTickets. The organisers say: "It's a unique opportunity to enjoy top headliners of the genre alongside the stars of tomorrow, set in one of London's premier comedy venues; the beautiful Phoenix in Cavendish Square."
