Comedy Crowd TV launches video competition

Comedy Crowd TV 2020 Showcase

Comedy Crowd TV has launched a competition involving creating a short video. Finalists will have their work screened at the BFI, and the winner will get £250.

The organisers explain: "In May 2020 The Comedy Crowd teams up with LOCO to present a special screening event at the BFI Southbank, London. We'll be showing the best of new independent comedy to an audience including invited industry guests. A shortlist of the best entries will be screened and an overall winner will receive £250. So a bit like You've Been Framed but with no bloopers, bloomers or health and safety violations."

18th March update: Due to coronavirus, the screening event will now be later in the year, rather than May.

The contest, which is sponsored by BCG Pro, is looking for videos which are 5 minutes of less. Entries must fit one of the four pre-determined categories.

1. Animation

2. Music

3. How to... (comical instructional videos)

4. Famous Faces (a link to a well-known celebrity)

The entries will be judged by the Comedy Crowd community, to form the shortlist which will be screened.

It's free to enter. The deadline is midnight on 15th May.
