BCG Pro Talent Awards: Production 2021 open

BCG Pro Talent Awards: Production

The BCG Pro Talent Awards for Production 2021 are open for entry.

If you're a director, producer, editor or have another other behind-the-scenes role on visual or audio comedy projects, you are encouraged to submit your work for the industry judging panel to see.

Aside from bragging rights, shortlisted finalists will get the opportunity to have their work showcased here at British Comedy Guide and to the industry in BCG Pro. In addition, mentoring and work placements are offered to the overall winner.

This year's judging panel includes Lucy Lumsden, the former BBC and Sky commissioner now running the independent Yellow Door Productions; and leading sitcom director Andrew Chaplin, whose credits include Year Of The Rabbit, Witless and GameFace.

The inaugural awards in 2020 proved a huge success, with the judging panel - including executives from leading production companies - commenting on the high standard of entries.

Starter-level winner Lorelei Mathias secured mentoring with post-production powerhouse The Farm Group, whilst Pro winners, directing duo Johnny Burns and Pier van Tijn, have received advice and guidance from TV producers Objective Fiction, and should be working with the company on a new project when covid restrictions allow.

The annual contest involves submitting a video or audio recording: short films, sketches, or a podcast or audio clip. The deadline to enter is Friday 30th April 2021, and entries should not have been produced or released prior to 1st January 2020.
