Russell Crowe

Norton introduces some of his favourite moments from the past 14 shows in this series closer, featuring the usual roster of A-listers; the likes of Helen Mirren, Russell Crowe and Samuel L Jackson. Given his guests' extraordinary willingness to bare their souls and more, we may well be treated again to Dame Joan Collins opening up about her late sister or Hugh Grant breezily revealing how many of his leading ladies couldn't stand him.

5 talking points from Corbyn's appearance on Last Leg

Five talking points as Labour's Jeremy Corbyn appears on show.

Corbyn's Last Leg appearance impresses (most) viewers

Jeremy Corbyn's appearance on Channel 4's The Last Leg on Friday night sent Twitter into a meltdown.

Radio Times review

Rumbling Russell Crowe joins Jonathan Ross to talk about his directorial debut, The Water Diviner, about an Australian farmer setting out to find the bodies of his three sons who died at Gallipoli. No one will put him off (of course), not even snooty Brits.

Also on the sofa is Elizabeth Hurley, talking about her new US drama The Royals, which looks absolutely hilarious, though I'm not sure it's meant to be funny; and Downton Abbey's Lady Rose, Lily James twinkles by to talk about playing Cinderella in a new Disney film. Don't stay after midnight, Lily!

Best of all, the comedy corner is occupied by David Mitchell, and music comes from brilliant disco funksters Chic.

Radio Times review

Alan Carr: Chatty Man may have won the 2014 Royal Television Society Award for best entertainment performance, but there's no doubt that The Graham Norton Show is the one that attracts the best A-list guests.

Settling down on his sofa are Hollywood stars Russell Crowe (who indiscreetly voted Cate Blanchett the best on-screen kisser the last time he appeared on the show) and Cameron Diaz (who lassoed a fake cow - don't ask - but this time is probably plugging her relationship comedy The Other Woman).

Joining them are The Voice UK mentor Kylie Minogue and Richard Ayoade, whose new movie The Double has just opened.

Jane Rackham, Radio Times, 4th April 2014

Voicing characters in animated films has become a must-have on the CV of any self-respecting actor these days, so it's no surprise that Steve Carell, one of the more recognisable faces of US comedy, is bouncing around on Norton's sofa to champion his new role as Gru in Despicable Me 2. Jostling alongside Carell are Irish actor Chris O'Dowd (Moone Boy, The IT Crowd) - star of US mockumentary Family Tree, coming soon to BBC2 - and US singer Josh Groban, fresh from a gig at London's O2 arena. But will any of tonight's guests be as trigger-happy on the red chair lever as Russell Crowe was last week?

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Henry Cavill, swooping in to flutter his cape at an appreciative Graham Norton as the latest incarnation of Superman in hotly tipped summer blockbuster Man Of Steel.

Cavill's co-stars Russell Crowe (Superman's Krypton dad Jor-El) and Amy Adams (feisty reporter cum love interest Lois Lane) will also be cosying up on Norton's sofa to give us the inside cape on the latest glossy blockbuster take on the classic superhero tale. Katy B provides the musical interlude.

Carol Carter and Larushka Ivan-Zadeh, Metro, 14th June 2013

It would be churlish not to mention that Henry Cavill looks very commanding in Superman's blue tights, if the trailer for the big summer blockbuster Man of Steel is any guide. You might also remember the Jersey-born actor looking good in a doublet and hose as smouldering Charles Brandon in The Tudors.

But it's Man Of Steel, where he dons the cape as the titular superhero, which is set to make Cavill an international star after years as a jobbing actor (he once guest-starred in Midsomer Murders).

It's a big, noisy affair, full of big, noisy special effects as wicked General Zod returns to capture the Earth. Naturally only one man can save us all, and the job appears to require him to remove his shirt a lot. Also on the sofa tonight is Cavill's Man of Steel co-star, the eternally sunny Russell Crowe.

Alison Graham, Radio Times, 14th June 2013

He's made a big impact as a star in such movies as Boogie Nights, The Departed and The Fighter but for some of us, Mark Wahlberg will always be Marky Mark. Chances are, though, that Graham Norton won't have the front to request a pose in shiny white Calvins - Wahlberg is very serious about his acting and is in Britain to talk about latest film Broken City, a crime thriller co-starring Russell Crowe. Now that must have been a punchy set. There's more movie talk with Shame star Michael Fassbender, soon to be seen in a live-action take on gaming sensation Assassin's Creed, plus laughs from Sarah Silverman and music from Laura Mvula.

Tom Cruise spills the beans about the people he ignores when they tell him "No" and Billy Crystal reveals who he says "Yes" to.

The pair top the bill in this big-name New Year's Eve line-up - and are also joined Rosamund Pike, who stars alongside Cruise in action thriller Jack Reacher.

Adding to the Hollywood head-count is Hugh Jackman who talks about his latest singing role in the film version of Les Miserables and reveals why he's got Russell Crowe to thank for his career.

And our own Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry tell Graham whether they'll be tempted to appear in a US version of The Great British Bake Off.

Also appearing are John Bishop and Pink who tells why she snared her husband. We know what to get Graham for Christmas next year - a bigger sofa.
