Libertarian comedian Liam Mullone and Komedia club boss Richard Daws successfully fought as independents in Teignbridge, Devon. Old school comic Jimmy O'Neill was elected as an independent councillor in Wigan.

The Komedia venue in Bath is attempting to secure its future by raising funding via a Community Ownership campaign. Various comedians - including Nick Helm, Katherine Ryan and Mel Giedroyc - have filmed videos to support the plan.
