Comedian and presenter Mark Dolan is joining TV station GB News. He'll present Tonight Live With Mark Dolan on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9pm until midnight.

The former Balls Of Steel and The Mad Bad Ad Show host has signed to the channel as it shakes up its schedules after five weeks on air.

GB News says: "Award-wining broadcaster, writer and comedian Mark Dolan is joining GB News with a prime-time programme.

"Mark will host Tonight Live With Mark Dolan on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. He will also appear regularly on other programmes across the GB News schedule."

The new station has been criticised by media commentators for declining ratings since its debut. A new prime time programme hosted by Nigel Farage launched this week, boosting the channel's average audience to 100,000 viewers.

Dolan joins GB News from talkRADIO, where he has hosted a drivetime programme for two years. Whilst on air he has caused controversy, most notably in September 2020 when he cut up his face mask live on air. He sparked outrage online by telling his listeners: "If you want to save lives and get the country back on track, the only option is to get back to normal. The first step to achieving that is to get rid of these wretched, god awful, damned, blinking, uncomfortable, scientifically empty, useless masks."

Talking about his new role, Dolan says: "I've had a wonderful time on talkRADIO but the opportunity to shake up current affairs broadcasting with GB News is just too good to miss.

"My show will tackle the issues that really matter to people across the United Kingdom in a stimulating, informative but entertaining way. My one promise is that it won't be boring!".

Dolan replaces Dan Wootton as Tonight Live host on Sundays, and Nana Akua on Friday and Saturday. She will now present a different show on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 3pm, whilst Wootton continues to host Monday - Thursday.

Left-wing comedian Andrew Doyle also appears on GB News. He hosts a programme called Free Speech Nation on Saturday afternoons, in which fellow comedians from across the political spectrum join him to debate issues surrounding censorship, culture, and "woke" politics.

Labelled "UK news with serious attitude", Tonight With Mark Dolan starts this Friday 23rd July at 9pm and runs for three hours each night.
