Julie is the creator and writer of BAFTA and Broadcast Award winning children's comedy So Awkward, currently enjoying its 9th series on CBBC and ABC Australia. She also co wrote the So Awkward Scrapbook and wrote and devised weekly content for the CBBC website to accompany the series.
Other writing credits include Disney's The Evermoor Chronicles and The Lodge, Wereworld for Netflix, CBBC's The Worst Witch, and Flatmates on BBC Iplayer. She has had other sitcom pilot script commissions from Zodiak Entertainment, Beano Studios, CBBC and BBC 3.
Prior to becoming a television writer she received Wandsworth Borough and British Council funding for her first short film. This and other films have screened at festivals worldwide, including LA Comedy Shorts, Soho Rushes, Cannes in a Van, CoFilmic (Winner: Audience Award) and BAFTA. She hs also written on numerous radio sketch shows and created original Radio 4 sitcom pilot 49 Cedar Street.
