Charlie is from Edinburgh and moved to London in 2014 to study Writing & Producing Comedy at the National Film and TV School with Channel 4. She has written jokes and sketches for BBC Scotland, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 4, Hat Trick Productions and for Griff Rhys Jones while working as his 2017/18 Tour Manager.
She has written and performed four solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe: Dante's History of the Banished (2017); The 24/7 Club (2018); Scrapbook (2019) and Picnic (2023). Her first three shows utilised her MA in Modern History as she performed predominately as various historical figures with a surreal twist.
Charlie Vero-Martin: Picnic was recommended by British Comedy Guide and the Telegraph as one of the best comedy shows at the Fringe. During the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 she also performed in Super, a dark comedy play that was nominated for the BBC Popcorn Award.
When she is not writing or performing, Charlie teaches improv comedy for Hoopla as well as a private coach.
