  • Sexy Murder is a BBC Three series that spoofs shows like Making A Murderer and Serial
  • Launching on BBC iPlayer and YouTube on Monday, the six five minute episodes will star Rich Fulcher
  • The show has been created by the team behind the sitcom Top Coppers

BBC Three is to launch Sexy Murder, a satirical parody of reality crime series like Making A Murderer, The Jinx and Serial.

The six-part series will star Rich Fulcher as Christoph Spinetti, a 'Televisionary' and 'Truth Crusader' who has come to the UK to do for British Crime what he's done for America - "speculate to the point of insanity and manage to make a story out of absolutely nothing."

In search of a miscarriage of justice to defend, Spinelli's documentary investigates the mysterious disappearance of Polly Worcester and her would-be attacker, Tom Jessop, "with all the objectivity, truth and (most importantly) sexiness you would expect." Unfortunately for Tom, Spinelli is the last person you would want on your side...

Rich Fulcher says: "This show is so sexy that I want to have sex with it."

The series, which launches on BBC Three on Monday, will also feature Nick Mohammed, Lolly Adefope, Shaun Williamson and Maggie O'Neill, plus feature guest appearances from actors James Gordon, Daniel Barker, Phil Wang, Marcia Warren and Ewan Bailey.

Andy Kinnear and Céin McGillicuddy, who previously created gag-packed police sitcom Top Coppers, have written the scripts.

Ash Atalla from producers Roughcut Television says: "Roughcut, as well as having a growing sitcom business, is embracing fast turnaround short form projects like BBC Three's Sexy Murder. It's brilliant and silly and is a way of comedically reflecting the shows everyone is talking about."

Damian Kavanagh from BBC Three adds: "I've said it before, I'll say it again, BBC Three is the home of the best, brightest and most innovative British comedy around today."

Each episode of Sexy Murder will be five minutes long. The show will be available on the BBC Three website and YouTube channel from Monday 31st October.
