Going StraightNow often overlooked in favour of its hugely acclaimed elder sibling, Porridge sequel Going Straight is still well worth being aware of. True, it lacks some of the spark of Porridge's prison environment, but it's wonderful to see beloved characters like Fletch and Godber in a different environment, delving more into their personalities. The original cast, including Barker and Beckinsale, reunited with writers Clement & La Frenais, and producer/director Sydney Lotterby, for these 6 episodes in 1978, as the former cellmates are both on the outside and attempting to live an honest life. The series is available to own on DVD. |
