Hitchcock heroine Nova Pilbeam demonstrates her considerable flair for comedy in this incredibly popular wartime adaptation of a hit play by Irish author Molly Keane (AKA: M.J. Farrell) and John Perry. Co-starring Michael Wilding, Basil Sydney and Margaret Rutherford, Spring Meeting - released in America as Three Wise Brides - is featured here in a brand-new transfer from original film elements, in its original aspect ratio.

Tiny Fox-Collier and her son, Tony, are broke. A cheery and handsome young man about town, Tony knows he can rely on his mother for a brainwave to save them from utter destitution. This she has: a visit is scheduled to the Irish country estate of her old flame Sir Richard Furze, now a wealthy widower with two daughters. But while Tiny is determined to see her son marry the beautiful but haughty Joan, it seems Tony only has eyes for Joan's spirited younger sister, Baby...

Delve Special - The Complete Series 1-4

Delve Special - The Complete Series 1-4

Stephen Fry stars as spoof investigative journalist David Lander in all four series of the BBC radio comedy.

Delve Special ran for four series on BBC Radio 4 from 1984-1987, later transferring to TV as This Is David Lander. A parody of the popular genre of investigative reporting, it stars Stephen Fry as inept crusader David Lander, alongside some of the biggest names in comedy including Tony Robinson, Andrew Sachs, Jan Ravens, Felicity Montagu, Harry Enfield and Dawn French. In the first series, Lander presents a four-part exposé into irregularities over a new London airport.

The Rebel

The Rebel

Pre-order. Blu-ray, DVD

Painstakingly restored from the original camera negative, Tony Hancock's celebrated first film - written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson - will be released on DVD and (for the first time ever) Blu-ray at the end of the month. Bored of his repetitive office life, Tony Hancock quits the rat race and takes up as an artist, turning his hand to painting and sculpture alike. Soon fĂȘted by the cream of the art world and a darling of the Parisienne scene, it's a rollercoaster ride for this bright young thing.

Alongside an image gallery and the original trailer, a limited number of copies include an exclusive booklet containing the full script for The Day Off, Galton and Simpson's proposed second film for the comedy star, which he turned down and remains an unproduced - but highly sought-after - piece of comedy history to this day.

Spotlight

Worzel Gummidge

Worzel Gummidge

Running from 1979 to 81, the iconic family sitcom about a mischievous scarecrow marks its 40th anniversary this year, and interest is growing again with a new adaptation on the way. Based on the original 1930s stories, Mackenzie Crook writes, directs and stars in a new adaptation with two specials to be aired this Christmas. This earlier incarnation - widely considered a definitive version - starred Jon Pertwee, Una Stubbs and Geoffrey Bayldon, with sparkling scripts from Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, and was directed by Oscar winner James Hill. The show's history book has just published an updated revision, and a new short film featuring some of the comedy's original stars was released just yesterday. Still in demand but not currently in production, DVDs can be difficult to come by, but last year all the original 35mm film for the series was rediscovered, offering hope of a Blu-ray restoration. We're keeping our fingers crossed, for this is a comedy well deserving of a new generation of fans.
