From 1955 comes this contemporary musical comedy set amidst the divisions of occupied Cold War Vienna, in a glorious production adapted from Johann Strauss's operetta, Die Fledermaus, which itself was based on an earlier stage farce. This early colour film stars Michael Redgrave, Anton Walbrook and Anthony Quayle, and comes from celebrated filmmakers Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger.

They are joined by Mabel (Susan Wokoma), the ambitious daughter of police chief Wisbech (Alun Armstrong) and together they fight crime - while rubbing shoulders with street gangs, crooked politicians and Bulgarian royalty.
