It Ain't Half Hot Mum
Following the sad news of the death of the brilliant Windsor Davies over the weekend, it seems appropriate to look back at the sitcom for which he is best remembered: the joyous It Ain't Half Hot Mum. From the same writers as Dad's Army, it's set from May 1945 onwards at a British military outpost in India, where a group of soldiers avoid the front line by staging entertainment shows for their fellow troops, but come into constant conflict with their unsympathetic Sergeant Major.
