The Army Game
By the number of episodes produced (more than 150), it is Britain's 3rd longest-running TV sitcom: ITV's The Army Game lasted - incredibly - for just FOUR series between 1957 and 1961. Marking its 60th anniversary today, the sitcom followed National Service conscripts doing anything they could to avoid work, spawning both a film outing (I Only Arsked!) and a spin-off, Bootsie And Snudge, which itself clocked up another 100+ episodes in 4 series. All surviving episodes are available to buy on DVD. Guide |
