Genius given a full TV series

BBC Radio 4's panel game Genius, hosted by Dave Gorman, is to be given a full six part series on BBC Two.

Described as, 'The show all about your ideas', the series involves members of the public coming up with their own ideas, inventions, plots and schemes. These ideas are then voted on by a celebrity judge and then by the audience. The overall winner receives the (not so) greatest of prizes, the Genius Trophy. Past winning ideas have included 'Tetris: The Movie', 'Lego prisons', 'Perforated bread' and 'Changing the way the winner of Genius is judged'.

This series follows the success of an un-broadcast pilot that was recorded last November, which saw Green Wing and Never Better star Stephen Mangan acting as the judge.

The series is to start recording in September and is expected to be shown early in the new year. The radio series is still continuing.
