On The Buses event announced

Thursday 20th March 2008, 7:03am

The 'On The Buses' Official Fan Club is organising a get-together which will feature special guests from the classic long-running ITV sitcom.

The event, which will be held on the 28th June, starts with a welcome get-together at Fairway Hall in Elstree and Borehamwood from 10am. Some rare On The Buses TV and film will be screened at this time.

The provisional plan is then for a Routemaster Bus to take attendees to see the outlying film locations, before dropping them off at a cinema where Holiday On The Buses will be shown. This screening will be followed by a question and answer session with the VIP guests. Following this, a guided walk round the town to see the various locations used by On The Buses is proposed.

Special guests attending during the day include Ronald Wolfe (co-creator and writer), Ronald Chesney (co-creator and writer), Anna Karen (Olive), Terry Duggan (Nobby) and Harry Fielder (Regular Extra).

The day has been organised to coincide with an evening event organised by The Elstree Film Festival. The entertainment is still being finalised, but is said to include film and TV music from the BBC Elstree Concert Band and rare film clips. A free booklet and souvenir DVD will be issued to attendees to celebrate 80 years of film and TV production at Elstree.
