Honour for Jon Plowman

Jon Plowman, one of the BBC's most famous comedy producers, and former head of comedy for the corporation, will be given a lifetime achievement award at the 29th Banff World Television Festival. The Banff Festival is considered one of the most important media events in Canada.

Plowman has worked on many famous BBC comedies, including Absolutely Fabulous, The Office, Little Britain, The Vicar of Dibley, The League of Gentlemen, Shooting Stars, The Thick of It, The Late Edition, Absolute Power, Comic Relief, Love Soup, Extras and the forthcoming Taking the Flak.

Plowman has said, "I have spent my entire career in broadcasting in roles that I have been privileged to hold. It is an honour to be recognised for a fulfilling career by a Festival that celebrates the best in our industry."
