The second series of Extras continued its steady but unspectacular run last night, attracting an average audience of 3.4 million, slightly down from the first episode which pulled in 3.5 million viewers.

The BBC2 show beat Ancient Rome: the Rise and Fall of an Empire on BBC1 (3.3 million), but was some way behind the winner in the 9pm timeslot - Ladette to Lady (4.5 million viewers).
