Jimmy Carr has presented a pilot for a new BBC comedy show. Produced by Hat Trick, What Are You Looking At? is a clip show that takes a 'comedic look' at the week's television.

Following this news, the BBC has been attacked by critics - they point out that What Are You Looking At? appears to be a direct copy of ITV1's hit ratings-winning show Harry Hill's TV Burp. This new show comes two months after BBC director general Mark Thompson attacked ITV1 for copying BBC formats, saying: "It's is our job to come up with new ideas."

The Mirror quotes one TV insider on its website: "Licence money should go on new ideas, not old rehashes." The BBC has responded saying, "Our show will be more spiky."

Executives are considering whether to make a full series based on the pilot filmed last night.
