The American TV network NBC has given the go ahead for filming to begin on its pilot episodes of I'm With Stupid and The IT Crowd.

"I'm With Stupid" is the BBC Comedy North sitcom about the daily goings on in Bramble Lodge (a shelter for disabled people). The project to re-make the comedy for a US audience is being headed by The Farrelly Brothers, best known for their comic films which include smash hit "There's Something About Mary".

Meanwhile "The IT Crowd", which will be returning to Channel 4 for a second season shortly, is being reworked for NBC by Moses Port and David Guarascio. The pair have previously been staff writers on romantic US comedy "Mad About You" and "Just Shoot Me!", a sitcom set in the fashion industry (no, we've not heard of them before either!). IT Crowd creator Graham Linehan is acting as a consultant on this project.
