ITV are looking to further extend the success of Leigh Francis' character Keith Lemon by creating a new prime-time comedy show around the comedian's alter ego.

The network will record a pilot episode of Keith Lemon's Bang Tidy Show in early July. Producers say it "promises to be as hilarious and off-the-wall as Celebrity Juice - the big difference? It's on Saturday night on ITV1."

Celebrity Juice, the low-brow tabloid gossip obsessed panel show hosted by Leigh Francis in character as his brash creation Keith Lemon, has been a huge hit for ITV2 - bringing the digital channel audiences of nearly 2 million viewers.

Keith Lemon's Bang Tidy Show will feature a chat show segment with celebrity guests, but also less predictably "a talking Orangutan, a door that leads to anywhere, and a supermarket in the future staffed by old celebrities".

There is also a section of the show in which audience members can ask Keith a question - anything from advice on a problem to asking his thoughts on a topical issue - and the show will end with a 'big performance' featuring the host and a guest.

Keith Lemon's Bang Tidy Show is being created by TalkbackThames, the production company which is also behind Celebrity Juice.

The pilot episode of the show will be filmed on Tuesday 5th July at The London Studios. To apply to be in the audience visit our free tickets page
