James Corden is to voice a new pre-school series on digital channel CBeebies.

Little Charley Bear, which launches later this month, is aimed at young children aged up to six years. The BBC describes it as "a contemporary, gently-paced show that inspires creativity, discovery and imagination. It has the feel of a classic children's television show but with brilliant CGI animation by Pinewood-based Annix Studios."

Greg Lynn, Managing Director, Chapman Entertainment, comments: "We are absolutely thrilled to be working with James Corden on our new imaginative and playful brand, Little Charley Bear. Not only is he an exceptional talent, but his voice is very warm and he creates great humour in every episode – there is a very fun relationship that exists between the narrator and Little Charley Bear!"

James Corden can currently been seen in cinemas as Jinks in Gulliver's Travels, and will appear in a support role in forthcoming movie The Three Musketeers. He is also set to return to the stage at the National Theatre soon, and next month will be filming another series of Sky's sports-based panel show A League Of Their Own.

He has also filmed a pilot TV comedy-thriller called The Wrong Mans, which he has co-written with Horrible Histories star Mathew Baynton.

The comedian got engaged to pregnant girlfriend Julia Carey on Christmas Day whilst holidaying in the Maldives. He gives an in-depth interview in today's Sun newspaper
