Stand-up comedian Ross Noble has announced he is to release over an hour of previously unseen material for free on YouTube over this festive period.

Noble posted on his Twitter account: "As an Xmas treat I am happy to announce over 1 hour of brand new stand up never before released will be free online... The free stuff will be starting on Xmas day on my new YouTube channel, one mini show a day for seven days."

The Geordie comedian, from Cramlington near Newcastle, is famous for his surreal humour and improvisational skills and for releasing DVDs with a significant number of bonus extras. For example, the DVD of his 2006 show Randomist is a four-disc boxset containing material from shows in Newcastle, Stoke, Birmingham, York, Manchester, Liverpool, Melbourne, and other selected highlights from his tours of Australia and the Scottish Highlands. Extras in previous DVD releases have included having an audio commentary translated into Cantonese. His new DVD - titled Things - was released this Christmas (order).

Noble's free online material, which was filmed in Australia in 2008, can be seen via his YouTube account
