Loaded, the lads magazine, are set to award Frank Skinner the highest accolade at their Loaded LAFTAS award ceremony on Wednesday - the "Loaded Legend" award.

Skinner is set to receive the award for his success as both as a stand-up comic, and TV presenter of hit shows such as The Frank Skinner Show, Fantasy Football, and Baddiel & Skinner Unplanned. In this last year his projects have included hosting a popular Saturday morning breakfast show on Absolute Radio; and launching Frank Skinner's Credit Crunch Cabaret, a sell-out show which offers Londoners respite from recession doom-and-gloom by giving them the chance to experience a variety of award-winning acts at a budget price.

Loaded Editor Martin Daubney comments: "Frank Skinner is undoubtedly one of the funniest and most successful comedians Britain has ever produced. Skinner's is a unique mixture of confessional and philosophical humour that appeals to the everyman, which is why we are proud to crown him this year's Loaded LAFTAS Legend."

Commenting on the news, Skinner said: "I'm very excited about winning the Legend award. This puts me in the same venn diagram as King Arthur."

Voting for the Loaded LAFTAS is now closed, with the lads magazine reporting an unprecedented number of votes have been cast by members of the public to help choose the results. The winners of the 13 voting categories, which include Funniest Man, Funniest Woman and Funniest Podcast, will be revealed at an awards ceremony this Wednesday lunchtime. Full Nominee List
