Home Time, Inbetweeners and Thick Of It nominated in South Bank awards

BBC Two sitcom Home Time (pictured), Armando Iannucci's political satire The Thick Of It, and hit E4 youth sitcom The Inbetweeners have been nominated in the comedy category for the 2010 South Bank Show Awards, which celebrates British talent across the arts.

Meanwhile Home Time's star and co-writer Emma Fryer is up for The Times Breakthrough Award. She is nominated against various other people from the arts, including opera director Daniel Kramer, Unforgiven actress Suranne Jones and novelist Peter Akinti.

Melvyn Bragg will host the ceremony on 26th January 2010, with the awards broadcast on ITV1 on Sunday 31st January 2010. This year marks the end of the South Bank Show Awards as ITV has axed the programme.
