A woman had to be taken to hospital after developing chest pains brought on by laughing too hard at Michael McIntyre's new live show.

On Sunday, 19 year-old Jessica Owen attended the opening weekend of Michael McIntyre's Big World Tour in her home town of Plymouth. Joined by her boyfriend Aiden, she had been looking forward to seeing the show for months.

During the first half of the show at the Plymouth Pavilions, Jessica began to feel unusual pains in her chest and started to get worried. She explains: "My chest started to really hurt with sharp pains and my arm went numb. It was pretty scary. We decided to leave ASAP and get it checked out.

"We went to our local A&E at the Derriford Hospital. I had an ECG and was told my chest was inflamed from laughing too much. The doctor asked where I had been and he said 'It's obvious what you've done ... you've laughed too hard!'"

In a post on the star's Facebook page, Jessica contacted Michael to let him know the dramatic turn of events from the show...
