Bristol Comedy Festival launches in April

Bristol Comedy Festival

A new one-day comedy festival is launching in Bristol this April.

The Bristol Comedy Festival will run across three venues in the centre of the city on Sunday 26th April, offering 18 hours of Fringe comedy previews in total.

Bristol already has the Slapstick Festival in January, and the Comedy Garden festival in July, but comedians Burt Williamson and Andrew White who are organising the new festival say they are keen to offer a festival that shows off Bristol's bustling grassroots comedy scene.

They say: "Every week the city is filled with extremely talented acts performing, and importantly to some very supportive audiences.

"There's some other large-scale events out there, but Bristol Comedy Festival will be a much more intimate affair. There's only a limited amount of seating in each venue and we hope to capture an exciting fringe feel with packed out smaller rooms."

The line-up will include Rosie Jones, Stuart Goldsmith, Olga Koch, Mark Simmons and many more stand-up comedians.

Bobby Mair and Sarah Keyworth are amongst the acts starting the afternoon off at 12:40pm, with shows then running through until the last, which begin at 7:20pm.

Tickets are sold individually (£3 Early Bird / £5 advance) with 3 shows running simultaneously in a time slot across The Boardroom, Horts Pub, and The Stag & Hounds - all within a ten minutes' walk of each other.
