Tony Cowards: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

Tony Cowards

Punster Tony Cowards answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

Career? You mean you can make money doing this? I started in 2004 and have managed to avoid having to get a "proper" job so I'm reasonably content.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself.

1. I suffer from Koumpounophobia (fear of buttons)
2. I've never eaten liquorice
3. Strawberries make my wee go pink

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

Just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her... actually that's the romantic comedy Notting Hill isn't it?

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Planning to tell everyone that my venue is a Pokestop full of extremely rare Pokemon

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

My plan is to eat salad and to drink nothing but Highland Spring water for the duration of the Fringe. It'll probably last until the first Festival drink up with a free bar.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

My dog, Bailey. And, knowing the peculiarities of the Edinburgh climate, being dry.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

I'd like to finally get along to the Scottish National Gallery and take in a bit of culture.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Tim Vine, Gary Delaney and Milton Jones with me as compere. It might be a bit one-liner/pun heavy but I'd enjoy it.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Daft Punk's lawyer, as they might well have some issues with my show name and poster.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Because which other show features roughly 200 jokes, a bit of singing and a hand drawn picture of an elephant?

'Tony Cowards: Daft Pun' is at Just the Tonic at The Mash House at 4pm until the 28th August. Listing
