Planet Caramel: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

Planet Caramel answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

We've all been doing comedy since before we were born but didn't start performing together until 2014. Since then we've done a show at the Fringe, ran our own sketch and character comedy night and produced over 40 sketches for YouTube. We've all been pulling strings in The Edinburgh Revue in some capacity since 2010. We expected to have been invited on Get Your Own Back by now.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. David has Tourette's syndrome and once shouted Plaid Cymru at an orca.

2. Alex once kicked Jeremy Corbyn.

3. Richard is a Harry Potter tour guide.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

Three lovely boys deliver more thrill power than seven-hundred-billion roller-coasters. Thirty sketches in fifty minutes with a free Tunnock's Caramel Wafer for everyone.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

We wrote a very nice letter to Tunnock's and they gave us SIX HUNDRED FREE CARAMEL WAFERS so every audience member will get a FREE TUNNOCK'S CARAMEL WAFER. We are shameless consumer whores.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

We are planning not to consume any of the caramel wafers ourselves. Instead we will be surviving entirely on a diet of Tunnock's tea cakes.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

JOKE'S ON YOU. We live here. We miss nothing.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Racing yachts down the Royal Mile, telling tourists that the castle is on wheels and connecting all the traffic lights together with string.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Peter Serafinowicz and Chris Morris (if they ever decided to do live shows), Aunty Donna, Simon Munnery's Fylm School, Michael Brunstrom, Paul Foot, Norris & Parker.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

The cast of Friends because we'll be wearing masks of their faces for the whole month - come to the show to find out why!

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

We're a sketch show that focuses more on concepts than characters - something that seems pretty rare these days. We pack more sketches into an hour than you've had hot dinners (in an hour). Also you will get a hot dinner (if you sit on the free caramel wafer for a while).

'A Taste of Planet Caramel' is at Opium at 6:15pm until the 27th August. For exact dates see: Listing
