Johnny Cochrane answers 10 questions about his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

I've been doing Comedy for about 7 years. I started off as a comic and via a two-hander show that I did a few years ago with Inel Tomlinson, I landed a CBBC show. We did The Johnny And Inel Show for two seasons and have subsequently been the hosts of another programme, Junior Vets on Call. We are now the Friday night hosts on Virgin Radio.

Due to all of these opportunities springing up I feel like I haven't always prioritised or received the same opportunities for my stand-up. This is something that I hope will change after my debut hour show - Appeal at this years Edinburgh Fringe!

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. I was on Holidays from Hell.

2. My real name is not actually Johnny Cochrane.

3. I was once on a programme called Safeword and was asked to leave the set because I farted next to Louis Spence.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

Appeal is a show that enables me to showcase the fact that I've found the golden rules for making a hit Edinburgh show.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

My double act partner is doing our radio show on Virgin Radio whilst I'm away. I think I'll get him to give me a few shout outs. Apart from that I'm sure if my show is good, people will come to watch it!

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

I've been here one day and have already polished off a KFC. That can't be the standard though as I'm trying to avoid a heart attack at this years Fringe. So I'm aiming to cook a few meals.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

My Xbox, I'm a closet gamer. I spend a lot of time on my own developing my Warlock.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

The city is beautiful so I definitely want to get out and see the sights. I'll aim to climb Arthur's Seat this year, maybe on my day off. I'm from London as well so its nice to breathe in air that doesn't cause Asthma.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Bill Burr (who is here for two days!)
Kevin Bridges
Eddie Murphy
Dave Chappelle
Ricky Gervais

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Don't think there is anyone. Everyone is welcome to bump into me.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Because I think it's unique. It definitely doesn't stick to conventional Edinburgh structures and I would be surprised if anyone was to leave without being entertained by what they saw, as well as laughing lots.

'Johnny Cochrane: Appeal' is at Pleasance Courtyard at 9:45pm until the 28th August. Listing
