Cucumber Crime: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

Cucumber Crime answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

We've been doing comedy for our entire lives - it's something we're comfortable in doing, and it's what we know. Having said that, our comedy careers only recently began when we joined the University of Hull in September 2015, and from there we developed comedy duets and sketches. It's been an enjoyable ride so far, we can only hope the rest to be just as smooth.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. Favourite sandwich is pickles, gherkins and marmite

2. Got stuck in a baby pool at age 16

3. Got stuck inside a pillar in Japan

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

A witty, comical, murder mystery pun filled farce that does not take itself too seriously. There is also a crime and a cucumber.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Street theatre! Hopefully members of the public can help the Detective, Sidekick and Vicar find the missing cucumber.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

Eating takeout is inevitable, so that's a lot of calories and fat intake there. We're trying to cut down on the snacking and high sugar and salt foods, but that doesn't seem to be going well...

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

The goldfish, Waddle, let's hope he doesn't die like the other three...

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Deep fried Marsbars - it seems like a must whilst we're here! And the castles, Edinburgh has so many castles!

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Dara O'Briain, Jonathan Pie, Hugh Dennis, Bo Burnham and Richard Ayoade.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Slenderman. Walking home after seeing a late night comedy show, a hand peers from around the corner, you scream and a little bit of wee comes out. Yeah, we'd rather not bump into him.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

If you enjoy a murder mystery play, and want something a little bit silly, then The Cucumber Crime is the perfect show for you. Must see if you're into The Pink Panther, The 39 Steps and readers of Agatha Christie.

'The Cucumber Crime' is at theSpace Surgeons Hall at 4:05pm until the 13th August. Listing
